‘Stressing happily’

In college-prep (VWO) Caroline choose the economical subject set, with mathematics and economics 1 and 2. “That’s why I started Business Economics at the Anton de Kom university afterwards. An interesting course, which I finished within five years. My specialization was Marketing. In between I also took classes in Business Start-ups and Business Planning.”

No letter, an interview nonetheless 

How did she end up at Qualogy Suriname? “I started here immediately after completing my studies, but it was a strange story. That is, the e-mail with my application letter never arrived. No letter, so no interview. But later on a friend of mine told me that there still was a possibility, and I could come and talk after all. After that, things were settled quickly.”

Why did she choose Qualogy? “The company puts knowledge first. I get the opportunity to increase my knowledge, I constantly learn new things. Within a few years I hope to be among the best in my field. That’s when I can look at other fields as well.” How does she feel about the company atmosphere? “Young and dynamic, and very pleasant, everyone encourages one another and chips in. It is varied as well: if necessary we all stress together to make the deadline.”

Technology and communication 

What is she working on at Qualogy Suriname? “During Bootcamp I specialized as an Oracle Developer, I build applications for our customers. It is very diverse, from data conversion to a job matching module. The Bootcamp was not just about technology, communication trainings are included as well, for example.”

Three dogs 

Caroline is single, so she can spend her time as she pleases. “I’m not the sporting type, although I plan to do something about it. I absolutely love animals, that’s also why I have three dogs. Furthermore I like cooking, nature, music and reading.  Crime novels I like very much, for example. But there is never enough time for hobbies.”
